Declaration of consent according to Article 6 subsection 1 lit. a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
I hereby agree that Johannes Gutenberg University stores, uses and transfers my personal data according to the information I enter in the relevant form.
The data processing is exclusively for the following purpose(s):
- Awarding of places at universities abroad and the processing of these procedures
- Awarding and processing of funding
- Advising, supervision, and follow-up support for applicants intending to go abroad for study, teaching, continuing education, or internships
- Fulfillment of the obligation to provide proof to funding agencies/program executing agencies
- Documentation of JGU’s international activities and for statistical purposes
- Advice and support before, during and after the stay of applicants for students studying at JGU
- Processing of admission procedures for studying at JGU
Consent is voluntary and I can withdraw it at any time with future effect in accordance with Art. 7 subsection 3 GDPR. My data may not be further processed upon receipt of the withdrawal declaration. They are to be deleted immediately as long as there is no legal obligation to the contrary. The withdrawal of my consent does not affect the legality of the processing that has taken place up to that point.

6. Duration of storage
In this case, the data will be stored for documentation and evaluation purposes according to JGU’s and/or the different program executing agencies’ stipulations (see for example www.ub.uni-mainz.de/universitaetsarchiv/von-aktenabgabe-bis-aufbewahrungsfristen (link in German)):
- If you are the recipient of a scholarship: ten years after the respective scholarship purpose has been fulfilled
- Otherwise: six years after the respective mobility has ended
7. Provision of data
The person affected is not obliged to provide personal data, neither by law nor by contract. However, participation in the relevant exchange program is not possible without submission of the necessary personal data.
8. Rights
Every person affected by data processing has upon request and according to the GDPR the following rights:
- Right of access regarding the personal information stored relevant to them and its processing according to Art. 15 GDPR
- Right to rectification, if data concerning them is wrong or incomplete, according to Art. 16 GDPR
- Right to erasure, if one of the requirements according to Art. 17 GDPR is met
- Right to restriction of processing, if one of the requirements according to Art. 18 GDPR is met
- Right to data portability according to Art. 20 GDPR
- Right to object to future processing of their personal data, according to Art. 21 GDPR
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, if the affected person is convinced their personal data was processed unlawfully. The responsible supervisory authority is:
